With FIREFEST fast approaching,Strangeways are currently assessing what to include in the set list for thier live performance.

The band will obviously be including some tracks from their forthcoming album to be released around October, so we don't expect you to know them, but what we do want from you is a list of the TEN other songs from past Strangeways output that YOU feel should be in the set list for the Firefest performance.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it with the heading STRANGEWAYS SET LIST before Saturady July 24th , and if you pick the ten songs that make the final cut, we will pick a winner or three from all correct entires for a private meet and greet with the boys at Firefest. Ian and Terry have promised to throw in a few goodies such as T shirts, cd's and another few bits and pieces of Strangeways swag for the lucky winners. Please be sure to include your name and e mail address. Winners will be notified before Firefest.For everyone who has waited 20 years for this to happen here is a great chance to actually tell the guys what you would like to hear on the night......so get those lists together and into us as soon as possible.

... and JIMI JAMISON FEELS THE HEAT!

As you know by now,we like to do things a little differently at Firefest - expect the unexpected. Well the NELSON boys got us this time. Matt and Gunnar are being accompanied not only by Neil Zaza and Bobby Rock, but they will also be joined by MARK SLAUGHTER of Slaughter as a member of the Nelson band for the night. It’s no secret that Slaughter (having sold over 5 million albums worldwide) retain a huge following in Europe and FIREFEST will be Mark’s first time on a British stage since Slaughter opened for Cinderella back in 1990! Can we expect a few Slaughter classics on the night? Who knows ... Matthew and Gunnar are playing their cards really close to their chest in what will be Nelson’s first time to play in the UK. Even Mark is saying nothing - but then as we said earlier on, expect the unexpected!

JIMI JAMISON has finally found a backing band. Well, no, actually Jimi has a queue of musicians just waiting to get up there on stage with him. That’s good news for fans as he has put together a GREAT band featuring TOMMY DENANDER (Radioactive) on guitar, JIMMY JAY (HEAT) bass, JONA TEE (HEAT) keyboards and MAGNUS ULFSTEDT drums (Talisman, Mitch Malloy) and maybe even another special guest or two just for the hell of it! Once again this is JIMI’s first solo performance in the UK so it is definitely one not to be missed. Oh, and the set list ...wow! No, make that WOW!!!!

With over 50% of tickets sold for Saturday and Sunday this looks as if it will be the busiest FIREFEST yet. Tickets continue to sell well and it looks as if the show might well sell out in advance. Weekend tickets can be purchased from the online shop on this site or at www.rocktopia.co.uk.

FRIDAY TICKETS : RECKLESS LOVE, CRAZY LIXX AND H.E.A.T. is definitely a line up people want to see! With just under 100 tickets remaining FIREFEST FRIDAY WILL SELL OUT very shortly so we would advise people intending to attend the show to get their tickets as soon as possible as once tickets are gone, then they are gone. FIRDAY tickets can also be purchased from the web site at www.thefirefest.com and www.rocktopia.co.uk at £20 per ticket,pretty good value for money for three top class bands!
